Pope Francis

In his first Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), Pope Francis spoke of how an encounter with Jesus Christ changes our lives. Coming into a personal relationship with Jesus fills us with joy.

“The joy of the gospel fills the heart and lives of all who encounter Jesus.” (Evangelii Gaudium, 1)

Pope Francis invites us to discover this joy once more.

“I invite all Christians, everywhere at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day.” (Evangelii Gaudium, 3)

Pope Francis wants us to see ourselves as Missionary Disciples. The Evangelium Project is a way of fulfilling this hope of Pope Francis for each of us. Now is the time for each of us to embrace our deepest identity as Catholics and become Missionary Disciples.

How does the Evangelium Project work?

The Evangelium Project has a very simple format. It consists of coming together with a small group of fellow Catholics for three modules comprising of five weekly one hour meetings. After each module, there will be a four week break in between.

Each module will have a basic theme, they can be best described as

Discovering what God has done in your heart

Understanding what we can offer to those around us

How we can share our faith with others

Each one hour session will include a short time of prayer and worship, a twenty minute teaching, a moment of personal reflection and fifteen minutes of sharing in a group.

This is a free event open to any Catholic wanting to deepen their faith

To be held at the Cathedral Centre or a hub near you
